Jeffrey Bissoy-Mattis is a journalist and podcaster, who’s worked for MPR News, The Current, Sahan Journal, The Plug, On Being and Crooked Media.
Born in Cameroon and raised on St. Paul’s East Side, he’s honed a passion for bridging and uplifting diverse Black communities, while fighting for more representation of BIPOC in media. These experiences mixed with a never ending yearning to learn about Black histories and cultures from around the world inspired him to start Plugged.
Brianna is a multi-faceted creative and change agent. She is passionate about addressing the disparities that exist within Black communities and helping to amplify Blackness in all creative dimensions. Her love for cultivating community and exposing the [often] overlooked gifts, needs and experiences that live within, is what drove her to want to contribute to Plugged as the Project Manager and co-founder.”
Chelsea is based in the Twin Cities and currently works within the Immigration field as a case manager. In 2019, Chelsea graduated from Carleton College with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Africana Studies. She is most interested in Plugged’s commitment to underrepresented communities nationwide and finds empowerment in the idea of connecting Black people through shared interests, needs, and challenges. As a member of the Afro Latinx community, Chelsea finds passion in the multitude of Black experiences that exist and hopes to contribute to Plugged not only as a Researcher but as a creative with various identities.
My names Kemunto, I’m a graphic designer currently working at Target doing digital design for the women’s & men’s category content.

Kellen G. Dorchen
Kellen G. Dorchen is a recent Carleton College, computer science graduate. He is a computer scientist and programmer on his way to a masters degree. Raised in Greenville, South Carolina, he enjoys bouldering, looking at lots of art, and traveling.
